Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" The Rhubarb Tour
with special guest Suzy Bogguss
Made famous by his weekly radio show, “A Prairie Home Companion,” talented writer and political enthusiast Garrison Keillor brings his witty sense of humor and creative storytelling skills to the Grandstand line-up at 8 p.m. with special guest Suzy Bogguss. Tickets are $25 and are available through Ticketmaster and the State Fair Ticket Office. Convenience charges will apply. The show is sponsored by Iowa Public Radio.
Lolo Jones Ice Sculpture
Lolo Jones will be carved in ice in the Cultural Center on Extreme Sunday, the same day she will be competing in the first round of the 100 meter hurdles in Beijing. The statue will be on display the rest of the day. Additional ice carvings will be made at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. A new carving will be created at each demonstration.
Pat Green
Grammy nominee Pat Green, known for his energetic and rowdy shows, brings his hit songs “Wave on Wave” and “Feels Just Like it Should” to the Susan Knapp Amphitheater at 7 p.m.
Foghat
Rock sensation Foghat reached legendary status with smash hits like “Mumbo Jumbo,” “I Just Wanna Make Love to You” and “Slow Ride,” which appears as the first track on the popular Guitar Hero 3 video game. Foghat will bring their talent to the Anderson Erickson Dairy Stage at 7:30 p.m.
Rare Earth
With their trademark blend of rock, pop, soul and funk, Rare Earth brings classic 70s hits like “Get Ready” and “I Just Want to Celebrate” to the Anne and Bill Riley Stage at 8:30 p.m.
Elvis Impersonator Travis LeDoyt
Elvis impersonator Travis LeDoyt brings back the excitement and aura of Elvis and the 50s at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on the Budweiser Stage.
