Tickets for the Foreigner/Night Ranger concert will go on sale Saturday, July 12 at 9 a.m. through all Ticketmaster outlets. All tickets are reserved seating. The Fair’s Ticket Office will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays - Fridays and 9 a.m. to Noon on Saturdays for walk-up orders only (no mail, phone or fax orders). Convenience charges will apply to all tickets. Grandstand tickets do not include admission to the Fair.

Foreigner

Throughout the 70s and 80s, Foreigner was universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world, racking up scores of smash hits, multi-platinum albums and sold-out concert tours. Hit songs like “I Want to Know What Love Is,” “Hot Blooded” and “Feels Like the First Time” immortalized Foreigner’s unique blend of blustery blues and impeccably crafted pop.

Formed in 1976, the band released their self-titled album the same year, which propelled the group into early fame with hard-hitting tunes like “Hot Blooded,” “Cold as Ice” and “Urgent.” More hits followed like “Waiting for a Girl Like You” and “Double Vision.” The band went on to produce seven more studio albums, two live albums and twelve compilations including their most recent greatest hits anthology, “No End in Sight: The Very Best of Foreigner,” scheduled for release this summer.

Last year saw a rekindling of Foreigner’s early success. After a tour with Def Leppard and Styx, the band embarked on its own national tour, stopping only to work on their forthcoming album.

Night Ranger

With hits like “Sister Christian,” “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me” and “When You Close Your Eyes,” Night Ranger both epitomized and transcended the sound and style of the 80s, leaving an indelible mark with a string of best-selling albums that sold more than 16 million copies worldwide.

Formed in the early 80s, the band’s popularity was fueled by an impressive string of instantly recognizable hit singles and signature album tracks, including “(You Can Still) Rock In America,” “Sentimental Street” and “Goodbye.” Harnessing the frenetic drive of heavy metal to hook-laden rock songs, throwing in a stunning twin lead guitar team and melodious, radio-friendly power ballads, Night Ranger inspired new descriptive phrases such as “melodic metal” and “metal power pop” and became the standard-bearer of a new sound.

Following a seven-year absence, Night Ranger reunited in 1996 for a tour of Japan and a summer U.S. tour. Fans proved that they still loved the music and the band. In 1997, the three-time Oscar-nominated film “Boogie Nights” spotlighted “Sister Christian” as one of the songs that defined the previous decade. Also that year, the band released “Neverland,” and the following year, “Seven,” studio albums that set the standard for the 80s rock revival. Nearly every summer since, Night Ranger has toured across the country, sharing stages with such acts as REO Speedwagon, Styx, Journey, Bad Company, Pat Benatar, Loverboy, Poison, Cinderella, Boston, Heart, Sammy Hagar, Cheap Trick, and Kansas.
